Our Mission
We uplift and encourage cancer patients and their loved ones by sharing stories of hope, courage, and tenacity — reminding every viewer that support is near and hope remains, even in the toughest times.
Founded by Lisa Howard, a two-time cancer survivor in remission for over ten years, The Image of Grace documents survivors' journeys through meaningful black-and-white portraiture — showing that a diagnosis is not an automatic death sentence.

The Book
A transformational nonfiction photography book and living storytelling project combining powerful imagery, resources, and personal stories from African American cancer survivors of various ages — crafted and photographed by Lisa Howard, a two-time survivor.
Black-and-white portraits paired with first-person narratives, educational sidebars, and QR codes linking to video testimonials and a living resource directory. It exists to remind readers that you don't look like what you've been through.
